Our Provence Home is for sale

Provence is a State of Mind

I found myself in Provence. It’s more than a place — it’s a state of mind.
It’s about
connection. Beauty meeting the simplicity of everyday life.
It’s the friendships, the
lightness of being, the sharing — and of course the essence of it all — the bounty of the land that arrives at your table.
The markets that create those small, cohesive interactions that quietly
feed your soul.

I found myself here in Provence, I became the woman I was trapped inside. Im the artist and creator I want to be.

Our place is for sale.
Derek has brought
every inch of this home to life, keeping its originality, its character, its story.

It’s been lived in, entertained in, and so loved — by us and by everyone who has visited

This is your piece of Provence.

Our home is for sale.

So Much Light

Nestled in the main pedestrian shopping street of Apt, Capital of the Luberon, this charming townhouse unfolds across three generous levels. Thoughtfully restored and decorated, it retains the aged surfaces and finishes of its past lives while offering comfort for modern living.

South-facing, the home captures the famed Provençal light year-round — shaded windows through summer and direct sun through winter, including the covered terrasse.

A Welcoming Entrance

You enter through a rescued glazed château door into an inviting living and dining room with tall ceilings and a decorative plaster trumeau overmantel. Recessed storage in three corners and traditional tommette floor tiles run throughout.

Across the way sits a cook’s kitchen with professional induction hob, pyrolytic oven, dishwasher, and refrigeration hidden beneath the central bench. Oak benchtops — crafted from rescued château floorboards — bring a warm honey glow. A functional utility room sits to the side with hand basin, shower, washing machine, and toilet.

The Heart of the Home

The central stairwell is voluminous and filled with light, with low, wide stairs in ancient tommettes edged in oak — easy and beautiful to walk.

The second floor offers a large, light-filled main bedroom with a simple plaster mantel and two generous antique armoires. A second bedroom, north-facing yet still bright, looks across the river to green hills. Currently used as a creative space, the quality of light here is exceptional. One wall of built-in storage completes the room.

The main bathroom is white and chrome with clawfoot bath/shower, pedestal basin with Venetian mirror, and a loo at the back — with a view to Sainte-Anne atop the cathedral.

Under the Roof

On the top floor, what was once the attic is now a welcoming guest bedroom with herringbone matchboard ceilingsand views across the river to tree-lined hills. A new roof installed in 2020 while the original oak beam remains. Ancient square tommettes — nine different tile styles — create character across the floor. Built-in storage runs along one wall.

A large skylight above the stairwell leads across to the terrasse — a bright loggia space with views over canal-tiled rooftops toward the Mairie facing Place Gabriel Péri.

Village Life at Your Door

Thanks to its secure location in the heart of the village, this gently restored home offers a true haven of serenity. On Saturdays — every Saturday — you simply walk out the door to the award-winning weekly market, a Marché d’Exception, one of only a few in all of France, running for more than 500 years.

On Tuesdays there is a smaller producers’ market at the opposite end of town, and in between — all within a five-minute walk — are six boulangeries, three butcher shops, two boutique épiceries and wine stores, a seven-day supermarket, two organic greengrocers, six cafés, and eleven restaurants.

A Turnkey Provence Life

This is a home to live in permanently — or the perfect lock-and-leave. There is also the opportunity to purchase the property fully furnished, including carefully curated antiques, decorative pieces, and appliances — a true turnkey Provence lifestyle.
